ElevenLabs credits explained
On ElevenLabs a credit is one character of text to speech, so a minute of speech uses about 900 credits at a normal reading pace (ElevenLabs' own estimate is 1,000). Other features cost credits per minute: 330 for speech to text, 900 for music, 1,000 for the voice changer and 2,000–10,000 for dubbing. Creator's 121,000 credits a month are about 134 minutes of speech or 367 minutes of transcription.
Offer running now: Until October 12, ElevenLabs advertises 3× credits on Creator and higher plans, and 72% off its v4 and v4 Turbo models on the API. Until October 18, Starter's first month costs $1 instead of $6.

Do ElevenLabs credits reset or roll over?
Each plan's credits are a monthly quota, and ElevenLabs says: “Unused credits roll over for up to two months — up to 2× your monthly quota — so your balance can reach at most 3× your monthly quota.” So a quiet month isn't lost, but you can't bank more than three months' worth.
Credits or the API?
The API doesn't use credits: it bills dollars per character, and per minute it is cheaper than the app plans; see ElevenLabs pricing per minute, the text to speech cost calculator and ElevenLabs alternatives.
